At first, mak­ing music togeth­er basi­cal­ly con­sist­ed in brows­ing through the canon of music à qua­tre-mains mains. Purely as mate­r­i­al to work togeth­er, with­out con­crete goal, just for the fun of it. Practicing Kurtag’s tran­scrip­tions of Bach’s can­tatas marked the begin­ning of ven­tures away from the path. It led to idio­syn­crat­ic music mate­r­i­al: a mix of impro­vi­sa­tions and own com­po­si­tions, each from with­in a per­son­al angle. 

This album is a kind of sub­set of Christian ​‘s musi­cal lan­guage — com­piled over the years in var­i­ous jazz bands — and Heleen’s back­ground in present-day exper­i­men­tal music. 

In 2017 Copper was released by The Werf Records and received the Price for New Music East Flanders.
