for Cello and V.S.L. Objects
With Crystal not Crystal, Heleen Van Haegenborgh and Benjamin Glorieux counter a world in which sophisticated high tech is the norm. They focus on other, more archaic forms of specialties.
Van Haegenborgh sees Glorieux primarily as a creative musician but his virtuosity on cello will always come out on top. Crystal not Crystal will be an alternative cello concerto featuring himself, electronics and sounding Val Saint Lambert objects. So that virtuosity is also carried through visually into the glassware, some of it more than 100 years old, crafted with the utmost precision. That attention to detail is also what lighting designer Geert Van Oorlé will use to light everything.
